This is totally normal…
Here are 5 things you may experience when you first get hearing aids:
Your ears might hurt at first while they adjust to your hearing aids
It may sound echo-y and your voice might sound weird to you
More frequent headaches might happen while your ears and brain adjust
You may need to go back to your audiologist to have them adjust your hearing aids after your first appointment
If you have longer hair it may sound scratchy and loud (you will get used to this)
Adjusting to hearing aids takes time. Remember to take it one day at a time and take as many breaks as you need. I promise it does get easier. It took me around 4 months to adapt to my hearing aids and over a year to actually wear them full-time.
